Trump's economic policy will benefit Thailand by THB2 bn

BANGKOK, 1 March 2017 (NNT) - The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) has predicted that the economic policy of U.S. President Donald Trump will benefit the Thai export sector by more than 2.5 billion baht.

Academic from the university Aat Pisanwanich said the U.S.' 45% increase in taxes levied on Chinese products would result in a 11.4% decrease in Chinese exports to the U.S and a 1.8% drop in China's GDP. However, Thailand's exports to the U.S. would also decrease following higher inflation in the U.S., said the director.

The 45% tax increase that would likely make Chinese exports to the U.S. more expensive was an opportunity for Thailand to export to the U.S. more, said Mr. Aat.

The academic added that the withdrawal of the Trans-Pacific Partnership would reduce the member countries' advantages in terms of tax but increase the benefit for Thai exports to the U.S. to 2.58 billion baht.

2 baht. Well, at least they're not going to lose out.

Not until you lower your import taxes on U.S. Goods, didn't you understand, Trump is talking fair trade and that includes Thailand.

The U.S hasn't imposed a 45% increase in taxes on Chinese goods. The U.S hasn't made any changes with regards to China. This article is pure crap.

In substantiated story...otherwise called propaganda.

“The 45% tax increase that would likely make Chinese exports to the U.S. more expensive was an opportunity for Thailand to export to the U.S. more…”

Dream on. Exporting inferior and overpriced goods doesn't translate in sales. If Thai goods were so desirable, they would have been selling, no matter what China was exporting.

And finally the academic said the result of this benefit to Thai society would be a median waist increase of 4.73%, or 1.7 inches, of the population translating to a weight gain of 5.75 kg, or 7.32%. This gain will be disproportionate in that HiSo will gain the most with an average of 85,97% of benefit and the middle class reaping 14,1%, while the LoSo shall receive 0.03%.

Pie in the sky thinking again.

Just watching Trump addressing Congress now. He made a direct reference, in terms of reciprocal tax penalties, to a country which levies 100% import tax on Harley Davidson motorcyles and other US manufactured goods.

Are you listening Thailand?

Well these kind of articles can be launched by a National News Bueau because there is no free press to be able to  tear down such a stupid article and to ask the author (s) what data is behind such a statement as there isn't any data mentioned that is the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad for the people of Thailand falling into this trap of desinformation!!!!!!!!!!!

launched by government!

Trump's economic policy .

Wait, his policy must be confirmed by Alex Jones.

Boy it sure did not take their spin doctors long to leap off of the mark. Positive spin for Thailand every time.

TRUMPONOMICS!

Trump; whatta guy.

If you lower taxes on imports from the USA they will do the same and not raise them

Thailand should figure this out This is the way Trump is working on it
