March 2, 20179 yr Prime Minister Hun Sen blamed the United States for the death and injury of children living in the countries they invade, including Cambodia, during a speech yesterday. Addressing the opening ceremony of the Asia-Pacific Regional Early Childhood Development Conference in Siem Reap City yesterday, the premier said the US caused the abuse of children’s rights and robbed young people of their right to life due to their invasions and deployment of their armed forces abroad. He added that many children have been killed in Iraq, Libya and Syria because of war. Cambodian children and children across Southeast Asia died and became disabled due to US invasions, he said. Experts believe at least 2.5 million US bombs were dropped on Cambodia during the Vietnam War, killing hundreds of thousands of people. “Who did it? We should dare to speak honestly,” Mr. Hun Sen said, referring to the US, who he said caused a civil war in Cambodia and instability in the Middle East. It was not the first time the prime minister has discussed the issue. During the opening of the 2015 Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) conference, which was hosted by Cambodia, Mr. Hun Sen blasted the US and many Western countries for exacerbating the refugee issue and promoting color revolutions in the Middle East. read more http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/36026/pm-blasts-us-over-child-abuse/ -- © Copyright Khmer Times 02/03 ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français ThaiVisa, it's also in French
March 3, 20179 yr A tongue in cheek comment from a country that slaughtered between 1m and 3m of its own people (probably including children)?
March 3, 20179 yr I don't think the U.S. ever invaded Cambodia, at least not formally. Bombed them looking for North Vietnamese communist soldiers during the Vietnam war, yes. But hey, the Cambodian Khmer, communist-inspired genocide only killed an estimated 1.5 to 3 million of their own people.

Quote The United States dropped 2.75 million tons of bombs, and warring factions placed millions of mines during nearly three decades of conflict in Cambodia. An estimated 4 million to 6 million land mines and other unexploded ordnance still remain in Cambodia from more than three decades of armed conflict.
