Certified copy marriage certificate

Featured Replies

I seem to have lost one of my marriage certificates.

i read that if i want a "replacement" i will need to go to Bangrak where we got married with all my old documents and passport, etc. but still only receive a certified photo copy.

As I'm in possession of one, Is it possible to get that copied and verified now at my local ampur now? The only time it gets an airing, is when I take it to Savannakhet and would rather take a copy rather than the last original we have.

I have seen guys in the queue without an original at Savannahket, if doesnt seem to be a problem, but i would rather have the papers as requested. Is it worth getting a good colour copy and laminating it to pass off as an original next time I apply for a visa?

If an original marriage certificate has been lost, there is no problem submitting the relevant documents to Savannakhet subject to having obtained a registry copy of the marriage at the amphur where you were married.  It is known as a Kor Ror 2.  For a single copy, the fee is B20.  I would suggest applying for a KR2 a few days before travelling to Savan.

If you have a copy of your marriage certificate you can to a Amphoe and they will confirm your marriage and then do notary stamp on it stating it is true and correct. You would then attach a  Kor Ror 2 marriage registry to it confirm your marriage is still valid.

I always upload copies of every important document and photo on my google drive

This is exactly what I want to know .. superb!

I always include a copy copy of a Kor Ror 2 - My local immigration makes big deal about it, so it's easier for me to have it than not.

Yes, we have one certificate and UJ has given the perfect answer, we live 1000km away from the place where we got married.

A kor ror 2 is an affirmation of marriage, it can be obtained at any ampur, it's a strange document, one year I went with my wife with photo copies, ready to sign it and have it certified, yet she just took the copies and gave us the form in return.

Subsequent years I sent the missus on her own, the woman doesn't even need a copy of our documents, just checks the wife's ID on the system and prints it off.

How is that an affirmation? Still we do it, 20B and 10 mins of her time to satify immigration or the consulate.

An updated printout of the Kor Ror 2 proves you are still married. If you were divorced you would not be able to get one.

Cool .. it wasn't a serious question, but I just find it strange that we don't have to go together to the ampur and sign it together.
