January 9, 20188 yr As a general rule in Thailand, I avoid ocean seafood unless I am within 100 km of a sea coast. some squid and shrimp might be an exception if it looks and smells fresh. But as a general rule eat seafood when you can see the ocean (and even then it is no guarantee).
January 10, 20188 yr For the first time, I saw Mahi at the Rimping supermarket at Meechok a few days ago. The tag said it was from Bali. The whole fish was on display and it looked and smelled fresh, so I bought some and it was delicious. Not cheap though, at 750 baht/kg. Edited January 10, 20188 yr by bubba spell correction
January 10, 20188 yr TOPS the other day they had Salmon on ice, uncovered on display. One piece had a fly stuck on it and I pointed this out to the guy and he picked it off with his fingers. Later I came back around and some unsupervised kids were standing in front of the fish poking it with their fingers. So...
