Non Immigrant visa problem

Featured Replies

I have just got back from Immigration at Chaengwattana as I went there to hear from the horses mouth what I needed for a change of visa status tourist to Non Immigrant for retirement purposes.

I live with my girlfriend in Udon and have been led to believe I could not change the visa there. I went to Chaengwattana and they told me I could only do the change if I lived in Bangkok and had rental proof. I told them I lived in Udon and they said then you must do it there.

Udon will not do it.

Probably easier to go to Savanakhet for the Non Imm O Visa.

Perhaps you talked to the wrong person that told you that. Perhaps ask again and ask to speak to a supervisor if you get the same answer.

It has been immigration policy for many years that if your local office cannot do the change Bangkok is where you have to do it.

I think it would be easier and cheaper to rent a condo in Pattaya and change the visa there.
