My AIS phone in Pattaya has had 4G internet service every time I've picked it up the past few days.  Where are you?

Challenging to trouble-shoot without a ton of details. Could be a gazillion things.

Maybe check with someone nearby who is using AIS to see if they're having a similar problem? Review your phone, settings, plan, SIM, status. Contact AIS.

i'm in bangkok near ekkamai, yesterday i was about 2km up soi71 and it was working, then stopped, went down 71 back to phrakanong, still no internet for the rest of the day, this early morning it was down again but now it's working.. the phone service works and i have max. bars but no internet most of the time. past few days its been down at least half the time tx.  just seeing if anyone else is out because i have never seen it down like this before, usually when there is bars and phone service, there is also internet.

Has anything changed on your phone (updates) recently?

Did you just experience a problem in this general area?

Can you ask someone else nearby on AIS if they are experiencing similar issues?

Do you have any sort of network indicators? 3G, 4G? LTE?

Maybe try an app like

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.signalmonitoring.gsmsignalmonitoring&hl=en

to get a feel for what might be going on.

Obviously try a different location.

There is a lot of overlap, so if there is one base-station issue you'd be covered by others.

I suspect if it were a bigger issue more people would be reporting it?

OK tx, it's still working as of now so next time it stops i'll get on the bts and see if it reconnects, and yea my phone sucks, it's one of the cheap ones that have this 4GB 'device capacity' and then it has an sd card with another 15gb of memeory; but I often get a message that there is not enough storage space to update the apps; apparently because it has to be done in that 4GB space which is almost entirely occupied by the adroid system software..it reminds me of that 700K 'standard memory' that PCs used to have and then there was this 'expanded memory' and you would always get these conflicts because certain things could only load into standard memory lol

Sometimes the data networks drop out for some reason or other.

Simply turning the phone off and then on again works.

I used to work for a telecom provider and they taught me this trick 25 years ago, before 3G was around.

I think the data signal is very weak in some places (including Ekamai where I often go) and then the phone seems to have problems reconnecting.
