Bangkok police chief Lt. Gen. Sanit Mahathavorn sits in a car that was seized with fake plates Feb. 25 at the Metropolitan Police Headquarters.

BANGKOK — The state watchdog on Monday rejected the Bangkok police chief’s denials about monthly payments from the biggest alcohol producer, saying it had obtained his original financial disclosure document and found it certified with his signature.

The Office of the Ombudsman said it had collected all the necessary documents in its review and planned to discuss Tuesday whether Lt. Gen. Sanit Mahathavorn broke ethics rules by accepting a 50,000 baht monthly allowance as an adviser to ThaiBev.

Give him, and ThaiBev, another 30 days to come up with another "story".

I wonder if he will say that it isn't his signature?

It's mind-boggling that ThaiBev's lawyers and fixers couldn't cover this up better?

Hopefully shareholders and the SET will ask ThaiBev how they accounted for these expenses?

Yeah! Don't be surprised when he buggers off with the gold.

If I had a say in this, I would charge him for breaking his inauguration oath to serve and protect the people of Thailand.

Or for signing a false declaration and the Computer Crimes Act for allowing false and misleading information to be published on the internet causing damage to the Police and Thailands reputation.

So a fake copper sitting in a car with fake plates, who had a fake job and provided fake documents to proof that the claims made were fake.

Only in Thailand

Quite so, the Mini is possibly one that Charlie Croker would have been familiar with in the 1969 original movie .  Since it was seized by the police, it's only fair the top cooper gets to keep it. After all, he's a member of the self preservation society here in Thailand.

So, he SIGNED a report that he received 50000 baht per month as a salary from Thaibev.

Now, he says that his staff prepared the report and the 50000 was entered on his report in error.

But he signed it anyway

So, this means that his staff simply made up a fictitious report of a non-existing income from Thaibev?

And he was clearly negligent in signing a false report.

Whatever gave his staff the idea about the 50000 in the first place?

In the first month of the investigation, he did not deny receiving the money which one would expect him to do had the report been untrue, but he said he needed more time to think of an explanation.

The mind boggles as they clearly think we are all stupid.

If this man can sign, in his view, a totally inaccurate report containing his own personal details, one shudders to think how many other reports involving crimunals and innocent people he has signed in the past without understanding what was in them.

Well, releasing the document has rather " blown the bleeding doors off" his cover story...

A great film.

He already explained this. His staff filled out the document and made a mistake. Not his fault.

Thailand - the hub of never taking responsibility...

Probably burmese staff...:coffee1:

In all my years here I have still to find a genuine Cooper. 99% are 875 minis with Cooper badges on them.

NB I am talking about cars here.
