KORAT: -- A huge fire broke out at a bunker oil refinery plant in Kamsakae Saeng district of Nakhon Ratchasima province last night, engulfing the factory building, and seriously injured a worker.

By noon today the fire is still not completely out out as the plant houses two huge tanks, storing up to 100,000 litres of bunker oil.

The fire was reported to start at around 10.00 pm at the refinery plant of VKP Energy Co Ltd in Kamsakae Saeng district.

The plant used old rubber tyres as raw materials to produce bunker oil.

The fire happened inside the plant and quickly spread.

More than 20 fire engines were rushed to the plant and try to contain the fire in limited area.

However due to the huge storage of bunker oil in two tanks, firemen were unable to prevent it from spreading the whole building.

The building roof later collapsed after several hours of raging.
