1 Year Marriage Visa For Farang Possible By Showing The Thai Wife's Salary/money?

Hello,

my apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but strangely enough I ONLY find questions regarding marriage visa that don't involve the money or salary of the thai wife but just the farang's bank account and the official statements are kind of confusing too.

My question and situation for the time being:

I am a 31 years old german officially married to a 34 years old thai woman, currently I am on a tourist visa here and i don't work here but we plan to stay here and for the time being the situation is as follows:

She works here and makes around 150.000 THB / month (or 1.8 mio. THB / year) in her job.

So the question now is whether that enables me to apply for a 1 year visa and show HER salary or bank account or whatever is necessary(very much like the one where you have to put 800.000 THB in some bank OR prove a salary that sums up to 800.000 THB / year as a farang)?

I have heard that lately the law has changed and now also the thai wife can show her money to get the visa for the farang hubby.

I hope I have been clear enough, thanks a lot in advance,

Basch

In a nutshell the answer is "yes" and as long as you 'as a family' can show that you earn a minimum of 40kTHB per month and can show you have paid tax on it then you satisfy the current requirements.

From what you say, it seems you can be a kept man. Lucky you!

Sounds excellent, thank you, the tax alone she has to pay is about 35.000 THB per month, salary steady and since about 10 years documented.

I will work on that asap and hopefully get it sorted,

cheers,

Go off to Immigration with her and with supporting documentation ( income evidence ... marriage certificate ) and it'll be a breeze.

There is a good thread here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...6616&st=195

This thread should answer any questions you may have.

Good luck!
