Change of Address Form TM28

Featured Replies

A little clarification is needed please with Form TM28. Can one wait until one's next 90 Day Report is Due to submit the TM28 Form at Immigration?

Or must one go immediately to submit the TM28 upon moving to a new home, even when one is staying within the same Immigration district?

Trekking to Chaeng Wattana is no fun...so if I can minimize the trips without breaking any rules that would be good.

Thank you for helping with this query.

Never done a TM28 at CW. The present address indication on the TM47 for the 90 days report was always enough.

Alarmed by all this various TM discussing on TV I did ask for a TM28 at Jomtien recently.

The officer said : no need, only TM47.

I'm a long term resident on a ongoing Chaeng Wattana stay permit extension and leaving Pattaya for good to go stay with my TGF in Ubon.

My TM6 and extension address has permanently been my rental apart in BKK.

I've always done the TM47 in Jomtien as I also have been renting a studio in Pattaya.

According to the law you should report within 24 hours.

However personally, I've always put the date of moving on the TM28 as one day before filing.

It has never been questioned.

You should officially change your address to register with Ubon Immigration.

You can then complete your 90 day reports and obtain your next extension from Ubon.

  • 3 weeks later...

I just moved and my 90 report isn't for 30 days. What should I do?

TM 28 is only necessary if you move to another province.

I disagree.

Section 37 Immigration Act.

2. Shall stay at the place as indicated to the competent official. Where there is proper reason that he cannot stay at the place as indicated to the competent official, he shall notify the competent official of the change in residence , within 24 hours from the time of removing to said place.

The TM28 is filed for a permanent change of address regardless of being in the same Province, or not.
