A female Chinese tourist was rescued after she got a cramp while swimming off Koh Samet on Wednesday. The tourist was identified only as Jane, 26.

Pol Lieutenant Bunlang Boonyarit, a deputy inspector Mueang Rayong police station, said the tourist was swimming with several friends at Noi Na Bay and suddenly got a cramp.

After she submerged, her friends called for help. A rescue worker from the Sawang Porn Kusol Foundation swam to where she was and pulled her out of the water. A speed boat transported her to Rayong Hospital where she was declared to be in stable condition.

I'm surprised anyone is going in the sea in Rayong at the moment as it's still full of rubbish washed up from the storms from down south, I've never seen the beach here so full of rubbish. See pics below, the 2nd shows the Thai's attitude to taking their rubbish home with them ......

We have some Russian guests staying and they are amazed that no one cleans the beach, the restaurant vendors clean their patch of the beach and burn the rubbish.
