DSI sends arms seizure suspects to court for detention

Department of Special Investigation (DSI) police today escorted nine suspects with close link to the wanted red-shirt hardcore leader Wuthipong Kochathamakun, alias Ko Tee, to the Criminal Court for detention permission.

Under high security guard provided by police and soldiers, the DSI also asked the court not to grant them bail with reason that their alleged crimes are serious.

The nine suspects were rounded up by the military and questioned before sending them to the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police for questioning.

The CSD later sent them to the DSI as some of the weapons seized during searches of Ko Tee’s places and those associated with him were proved to be stolen and used in terrorism activities during the anti government protests by redshirts in 2014.

All were arrested in a raid on March 18 and military grade weaponry were found at several of the suspects’ homes.
