Hi, My first time to ask a question here, Can anyone tell me if I adopt my thai g/f,s son who is 8 years old, Would he be able to inherit from my estate in England, if anything happened to me, ( which is my wish ) I am divorced and have no children. I travel to Thailand 2 times a year, Or Is there any better solutions ? Thank you very much,, Steve, My email is [email protected]

I don't know British law but could you not just name him as an heir in your legal will ?

Best to write a will, then it is clear who gets what, otherwise the estate will be distributed according to the law in that particular country, note after a recent uk court case if you do not want someone to get anything then make it clear in your will and the reasons why(as  members of family can challenge your wishes)

This is a good starting point  https://www.gov.uk/inherits-someone-dies-without-will
