Thailand Post sells stamps commemorating late King's 70 years on the throne

BANGKOK, 1st April 2017, (NNT) - Thailand Post Co., Ltd. is now selling sets of postal stamps commemorating the anniversary of His Majesty the late King's 70 years since his accession to the throne, attracting a large number of stamp enthusiasts. 

The Thai Post, which claims these stamps are the longest in the World, put the items on shelves at the ongoing National Book Fair at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Each customer is allowed to purchase no more than 50 sets of the stamps. 

Each set features six stamps depicting His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in six different situations. The stamps represents stories of Royal Initiative Development Centers in a panoramic view. Each stamp has a length of 170 millimeters, the longest ever for a stamp according to the agency, adding that this will be the final official set of stamps commemorating His Majesty King Rama IX. 

Stamp enthusiasts have said that they didn't have to spend too much time waiting for their turn to purchase the stamp sets. They indicated that they would treasure these stamps for their sentimental value. 

Thai Post has made known that there are currently 100,000 sets of these stamps, adding that they are available at postal offices nationwide and at the website www.postemart.com
