Transport Ministry to propose 7-7-7 Songkran safety measure

Featured Replies

From what i read in a previous article the motorways will be free over the holiday period.  This is a perfect place for the police to be conducting random breath testing of drivers passing through the open toll gates.  All we ever seem to get during this period is talk talk talk about slowing down, don't drink and drive etc.  How about doing something constructive to help reduce the carnage on the roads.   Most accidents are caused by high speed and / or drink driving or usually both.

How about they implement 5-5-5, because all you can do is laugh at this mess.

Switching your lights on ruins your battery; same with indicators; brake lights.  It's OK to use radio at full volume as other road users hear you coming before they see you.

will campaign for motorists to put their headlights on even during daytime

The locals do not put them on at night - what chance during the day    :shock1:

I once asked a taxi driver why he didn't have his headlights on as it was dark. He responded by saying he was saving on his battery.

seems a bit tangential to the original argument= or are you suggesting that Thai drivers are more stupid than others?
