Police step up manhunt for taxi driver who allegedly attempted to rape Myanmar woman

Police are stepping up the manhunt for a 34-year-old taxi driver after the Criminal Court approved a warrant for his arrest, the Bangkok police chief said on Monday.

 

Pol Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn, commissioner of Metropolitan Police Bureau, said the court had approved an arrest warrant for Komsan Totim.

 

He was accused of attempting to rape a 27-year-old Myanmar passenger on Saturday morning as she traveled to her house on Pattanakarn Road. The driver allegedly took her to a remote area on another road and attempted to rape her.

 

The woman managed to fight off the attack and also used her smartphone to record Komsan’s driver ID card.

 

While she was running from the taxi, another taxi driver spotted her and took her to a police station to file a complaint.

 

Sanit said Huay Kwang police had failed to find Komsan at his rented room in Huay Kwang.

 

Sanit advised women passengers to use registered services to hail taxis.

Well, I hope they have more success serving the arrest warrant than they did with the one for him in Rayong for kidnapping and molesting an under 15 year old kid in 2015.

Mind boggling that they didn't bother trying to find him for that one, but do now when the spotlight is on them.

I hope that after they find this low life and throw him in the jail he finds out what it is like to get raped himself.

Several times i used taxi's with the driver looking very different as the pic on the license. Or the reg. nrs on the doors are missing.

 

It's the police' job to check them but of course they are far too busy for that.
