BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday penned a message wishing all Thais happiness and safety in enjoying the upcoming Songkran water festival, while also urging them to adopt a ‘good host’ attitude for all foreign visitors.

He wrote the well-wish message for the Thai traditional New Year coming next week as he yesterday visited a special 2017 Songkran event titled ‘Songkran the Thai Way – Conserving Water and Safety for All’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture and its affiliate 14 departments at Government House.

He took this opportunity to personally pen a letter to the Thai people of wishing them happiness, safety and take the opportunity to refresh themselves for Songkran and thereafter.

Does that mean DON'T throw water at me while I'm riding my scooter or the opposite?

Well that's complete and utter rubbish. I fail to see how people throwing half the water in the country away is an act of conservation, and one look at the road fatality statistics during Songkran, shows that it is definitely not safe at all. He should engage his brain before he opens his mouth.

PM/ Prime Minister = the head of an elected government; the principal minister of a sovereign or state.

Prayut is many things, but Prime Minister is not one of them

You would think a PBS station would know this
