webfact
Seven injured after truck crashes into van carrying students By The Nation CHACHOENGSAO: -- Seven people were injured when a six-wheel truck crashed into the rear of a van transporting students to a school in Chachoengsao province on Monday morning. Police said five students, a parent and a pedestrian were injured in the accident that happened at about 7am on Bang Pakong-Chachoengsao Road in Ban Pho district. The van overturned after being hit and landed on its roof in a roadside ditch. The van was driven by Jira Rojin, 62. He told police he was transporting eight students and a parent to Wat Pitulathiraj School for summer classes when the accident occurred. He said he was about to park on the roadside to pick up another student when the truck driven by Sayan Krobkrathok, 35, hit the van’s rear. Sayan said he could not stop the truck in time when the van changed lanes to stop. Police said the injured were sent to Bang Pakong Hospital. norbra
Wow Honest assessment. IMO Pinning the cause squarely on the reckless van drivers change of lane and sudden stop in front of the truck.
Ijustcashier
I have had taxi and van stop on the shoulder of the highway to Pattaya to use his phone. Trucks flying past so close it gave our vehicle a good shaking.. Scary stuff
seajae
truck on the inside lane should not be travelling fast, van should have looked but this is Thailand, speed and not using mirrors is part of what they do

The van changes lane without properly checking it was safe to do so, and the truck is overtaking on the inside, way too fast. It always disturbs me, the amount of accidents that involve people who drive for a living. They are the ones that really should know better. whatawonderfulday
Now let's see if they actually report whether the van's occupants were wearing seatbelts or not.

Scary stuff The driver was correct in stopping rather than talk and drive. The far left area to the left of the solid white line is designed as an emergency stopping lane. It is not designed for passing on the inside by idiots who want to get ahead of the pack. Seriously, if he had to use the phone, where would you have preferred him to stop? In the fast lane?.
