April 11, 20179 yr Thought RTP were cracking down on underground activities for Songkran!!! hahahahaha
April 11, 20179 yr Ironic they are using a London bus from the 1950s. Perhaps Thai buses are not to it
April 11, 20179 yr That isn't a tunnel, it's a trench. Why not put a road on top as well. They've not made any extra space by building this 'trench'.
April 11, 20179 yr The one place they really need a tunnel would be the Asoke-Sukhumvit intersection. Construction would be costly and the traffic jam unbearable.

Would have to move the MRT first in fact they have plans for a flyover to go from Asoke junktion to pechiburi. Can you imagine double the car fumes there in summer? April 11, 20179 yr Why do they keep building 2 lane tunnels? They are inadequate. Another big project on Pattanakarn is also planned for two lanes. They don't seem capable of planning for the future.

I live near there and the traffic was totally chaotic when they were building this.

An underground passageway, dug through soil and enclosed except for entrance and exit, commonly at each end, is called a tunnel. http://news.lovepattayathailand.com/national/bangkok-tunnel-opens/ Edited April 14, 20179 yr by Morakot

April 14, 20179 yr Where are all the flooding prophecies and jokes? It appears that Bangkok forum posters aren't as intelligent as our Pattaya construction engineers.
April 14, 20179 yr At Rachapruck Road is a similar tunnel/underpass which is like 3 years old now. Right at the deepest point they opened up all the wallpanels to show the totally rotten drain?-pipes...Guess the contractor forgot to use high quality pipes. But the pipes are still uncovered or fixed...the wallpanels are removed for a year or so now. Don't understand why they don't fix it.
