Passport renew - possible to transfer visa?

Featured Replies

Hi

Current situation:

Just received work permit under BOI, and got a multi entry stamp on my passport.

WP - valid till Mar, 2019

Multi entry stamp - valid till Apr 2018

Passport - valid till Apr 2018

They only gave me a entry stamp same as my passport expiry date while WP is valid one more year than that.

I will need to renew my passport soon as it's out of pages.

Questions:

- Once passport is renewed, can I transfer the multi entry stamp to the new passport?

- Which immigration office should I visit? Since I'm under BOI, does Chamchuri work? Or should I go to Changwattana?

- With new passport, will they give me a new stamp which is valid till Mar 2019, same as my work permit?

Thanks!

They will transfer you stamps after you get your new passport ad the one stop center at Chamchuri. That would be the extension and re-entry permit stamps and entry stamp. The will also do a stamp with a annotation about the visa you used for entry and info about your old passport.

When your extension ends in April of next year you will have to apply for a new extension and re-entry permit.

You should get a new passport before you have less than 6 months remaining on it. Many countries require a passport validity of 6 months to enter.
