Public Health Ministry and National Health Security Office curing children w/ harelip and cleft palate

The Ministry of Public Health is cooperating with the National Health Security Office in organizing a project to treat youths with harelip and cleft palate. The agencies are confident that they can develop one of the best schemes in the world to take care of these children.

Public Health Minister Mongkol Na Songkhla presided over the ceremony of a dental project to celebrate Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 50th birthday. Md. Mongkol said his ministry will use a budget of 26 million baht to take care of 1,500 children with harelip and cleft palate.

He also aims for Thailand to become one of the leading countries to cure these young patients so they can have a normal facial structure and a clear articulation, and the signs of being disabled would be eliminated.

Md. Mongkol said the National Health Security Office has supported a budget of 26 million baht. At the same time, the Thai Red Cross Society is giving 1,000 baht of transport expense to each family with children who are suffering from harelip and cleft palate. However, they have to be treated in this project immediately.
