Entering Canada (Vancouver) from bkk, then on to Vegas)

Featured Replies

Wondering if anyone from Thailand, flying in to Vancouver, and on to Las Vegas made this trip recently.    Would like to know if it's necessary to clear customs and immigration in Vancouver or do it all in Las Vegas.    What is the transition process?    Is there a transitioning area that you can go direct to your departure for domestic airlines.     Any info on this really appreciated.

Let me move this to the root Thailand Travel forum (not a "trip report").

I arrived in Vancouver, on a flight from Seoul, a couple-of-years ago ...

And I recall seeing some arrivals being redirected to a seperate area, for onward-travel to the USA, so I think you should clear US-Customs & Immigration in Vancouver ?

I'm assuming you're on a single ticket/PNR, even if changing airlines in YVR ?

Vancouver is definitely an airport where people clear U.S. customs in Canada. That is weird. I've done that in Vancouver and Toronto but don't recall about Montreal. The only difference for the O.P. is that he's doing a connecting flight from abroad. So I'm not 100 percent sure that it would be the same but I think probably that it is.

Thanks all.    Just to clarify a bit.     I'll be flying Korean airlines from CNX (Chiang Mai), layover in Seoul, to Vancouver and then on to LVegas, all on one ticket, straight thru.   Want to know if I have to pick my bags, clear customs and immigration, prior to the flight on to Vegas.       Or, just arrive, go to a transit point, direct to my departing flight.

Sorry, the flight is on Air Canada   NOT    Korean.
