webfact Posted April 18, 2017 Share Posted April 18, 2017 Thailand ready to strengthen ties with Russia BANGKOK, 19 April 2017 (NNT) - The Cabinet has approved Thailand’s standpoint for bilateral talks with Russia with a focus on trade and investment promotion. Deputy Government Spokesman Lt. Gen. Weerachon Sukondhapatipak said Thailand and Russia will meet in the 3rd meeting of the Thai-Russian subcommittee on trade from 20-21 April 2017 in Bangkok. Thailand and Russia would promote trade and investment between them more as well as expend their relations in other fields such as tourism and science, said Lt. Gen. Weerachon. The Cabinet gave the green light to a draft of the Thai-Russian agreement on defense technology cooperation and the country’s statement on the ASEAN joint declaration on civil service. The statement covers cooperation to develop civil servants for the citizen-centric civil service. Regarding the prime minister’ visit to Bahrain this month, the deputy spokesman said the PM would discuss issues including human security and solutions to cross-border crime, narcotics and human trafficking.
