Hi,
I need for my car an new tax sticker. In the last 2 years my neighbor organized this. Unfortunately I can't use this "service" again because I moved
from Lopburi to Chonburi province. How to get the tax sticker now in Chobburi? Is this a problem because I living in an other province?

Thanks in advance for some information

Regards

Uwe

What part of Chonburi are you in? I know that road tax can be paid at Big C courtesy desks in Pattaya so check your local Big C for information.

It can also be paid at your local Post Office.

Phan Thong round about 70km from Pattaya

When I pay in Big C or post office what paper i have to show?

Let me ask:

How old is the car? (younger than 6 years)

You only want compulsory insurance, no complementary insurance?

(the sticker documents tax payment and compulsory insurance)

The car is older that 6 years

For getting an new tax sticker I need the insurance paper?

If the car is older than 6 years then the technical inspection has to be done first.

For that the car has to be shown up at one of the many licensed workshops.

That has to be done before paying tax/compulsory insurance.

No, you don't. If you refer to a complementary insurance that is completely independent. Many choices.

Best is, you show up with the car at a test station/workshop and let them handle the paperwork for a (small) fee. Pickup tax sticker and get the car registration book ("blue book") returned a day later or so.

Test stations have an easy to recognize cog wheel symbol:

I bet there will be one or more in your area.

Drive up and ask (having the blue book with you).

Do mine at DLT in Pattaya (behind Regent School on 36 before you get into Pattaya). Testing station one side of road then over the road to DLT on other side, insurance window to right from entrance then tax windows on left inside entrance (get ticket from counter as you go in). Took 30 mins all done last time.

If only 70km away might be worth the trip to get it all done in one go.

If you take it to a testing station with the cog wheel as shown in khunBENQ's post they can do everything for you,

you just have to leave the blue book with them for a few days costs 200-300 baht extra for them to do all the running around.

You only need to show that you have the minimum, compulsory insurance. When you buy this, there's a tear-off bottom part of the insurance document that is retained by the agency processing your tax payment and tax sticker issue.

Best advice yet. Inspection, buy insurance and pay tax all in one hit.
