BANGKOK: -- A computer repairman told Thai TV that he was lucky to be alive after a wheel came off an 18 wheel truck and ploughed into the front of his shop.

Thaivisa previously reported the incident from last Thursday. We showed a Facebook video of the wheel coming loose from the truck as flames engulfed the vehicle speeding past the shop in Samut Sakon province south of Bangkok.

Now pictures of damage to the front of thirty five year old Uthin Khammungkhun's shop have emerged emphasising what a close shave he had, reported Thai News Agency.

Uthin told national TV that it was lucky that he has good hearing. He was just attending to some fish in pots outside his property when he heard a loud noise and stepped out of the way just in time as the wheel came crashing through.

He agreed that if he had been hit he could easily have been killed.

A man on a bicycle by the side of the road was similarly lucky to emerge unscathed.

The truck driver seemed to have had his foot down, you can usually

tell when wheel nuts are loose, the steering wheel would have been

wobbling, and the wheel would have been making a noise,at least

10 nuts to just come off ?  well it makes a nice change from brake failure.

That wheel was smoking hot  it must have been making a hell of a noise prior to breaking loose.

The driver didn't notice??

Read again, he was a computer repair man... probably just thought it was another glitch with the Windows!!!

:sorry:

BUT did the driver stop :-)

I think you see him towards the end of the video, wearing a yellow shirt. He puts his hand to the wheel to see if it has cooled enough to handle - presumably before re - attaching it and continuing his rampage ( sorry journey).
