KABINBURI: -- A video shows the aftermath after a Nissan March hit a bridge on the Sa Kaew to Kabinburi Road yesterday.

The car - believed to have contained two Cambodian workers - hit the surround of a bridge and burst into flames.

One man named as Jan Tam, 28, was thrown from the vehicle into a roadside pond. He was found by foundation medics after crawling from the water.

He was rushed to Kabinburi hospital in a critical condition.

Another occupant of the car was found dead on the tarmac from head injuries. He was named only as "Aow", aged 20.

It was not clear who was driving and who was the passenger.

Wang Takhian police and fire services attended the accident that involved just the one car on Route 33.

The TNews headline said that it was confusing as to why Cambodian workers were driving a car in Thailand.

The police are thanking Buddha there were no Thais involved.  Rounding up scapegoats is a lot of work.

I cannot understand the Thai in the video, but here is a translation "the car was driving recklessly and slammed into the bridge support at high speed"

Was I close?

The Thai source text seems to say about the same.

Speeding and losing control.

No 3rd party involved obviously.

Eco tin cans.. They are cheap, economical and certain death trap in a collision.

But regardless, would you agree that they must have been moving along at a fair old rate to do that much damage? No seat belts on, both ejected, one into a pond?

Judging by the wreck, if he wasn't ejected he would be in the morgue for sure.
