Govt to install mobile signal towers covering national park areas nationwide

BANGKOK, 28 April 2017 (NNT) – The Office of National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation is increasing the mobile signal and internet coverage areas in national parks to facilitate officials and tourists.

NBTC Secretary General Thakorn Tanthasit said that the NBTC and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation agreed to a new standard of internet and mobile signal coverage in national park areas by installing mobile signal towers and the Internet in 151 national parks. The agreed term is a five year operational plan.

The authorities will explore the national park areas to determine the suitable areas for telecommunication signal coverage in the National Parks, along with the installation of telecommunications towers.

The standards of the existing telecommunication service system will also be improved in order to increase convenience and safety to tourists visiting the national parks.
