Labor Ministry warns jobseekers against falling victim to online perpetrators seeking service fees for travel and work in Canada and New Zealand

BANGKOK, 5 May 0217 (NNT) - The Ministry of Labor has warned job seekers against being lured into lucrative job offers abroad in Canada and England, operating through fraudulent online propaganda outlets.

Employment Department Director General Waranon Pitiwan disclosed that the Department of Employment has received complaints from many job seekers that they have been deceived by fraudsters seeking service fees of 30,000-100,000 baht per head in exchange for job offers in Canada, New Zealand, Iceland and Spain through Facebook and Line.

From January to March this year, the department has received 392 complaints from victims of fraud agents with the top three countries being South Korea, Japan and Australia, he said.

Violators of the Employment and Job-Seeker Protection Act 1985, on charges of fraud claiming to offer jobs abroad in exchange for assets or other benefits from the victims will be subject to a penalty of an imprisonment term from 3 – 10 years, a fine of 60,000 – 200,000 Baht, or both.

Security on Facebook is zero which means there is none, so do not part with money or goods via Facebook as 99% of the time you will lose it. Only use a company that has a quality website and if money is being paid on line look in the top left hand corner and see if there is a padlock just like TV has, in most cases its green or blue in colour.

Facebook is and always was a photo message share service it is not secure and it is not E commerce. Anyone using Facebook trying to sell goods or services and do not also have a quality website is a cheapo rip off merchant and not worth dealing with.

Don't loose your hard earned money to Facebook con men, Think before you send or transfer cash.

Hope that helps anyone who is unsure, take it from us we know the web better than most.

There will still be some that fall for the scam, the lure of high paying jobs

that dont exist.
