E-visa borderrun to poipet

Recommended Posts

poipet may not allow you to do a border hop to get a fresh 90 day stamp, you would be better going to burma Ban Phu Nam Ron crossing

as posted in another thread by ubonjoe -

''It is the Ban Phu Nam Ron crossing.

You will pay a total of 960 baht. That includes 500 baht for the border pass to Myanmar and transport across no mans land.''

Theer is only one site for a legitimate Cambodian evias and that is

http://www.evisa.gov.kh/

But it can only be used at certain land crossings, not all - the application form shows which ones or the web site may list them.

And the land crossings which will accept evisa may not be amenable to letting you turn around and go right back, even with a multi-entry visa. Bear in mind separate set of officials and Imm offices - the Camb one which has to let you into Camb (may or may not accept evsia) and then the Thai one which has to let you back in right after just stamping you out.

Since you can get a Camb visa on arrival, evisa while a convenience is not essential to what you want to do.

Suggest you post in the Thailand Visa forum (or just do a search there, as this comes up often) to identify the best Thai Imm office on the Camb border in terms of letting people with multi-entry visas re-enter right after exiting.  For sure it will NOT be Poipet.

2 years ago I went to Poipet for the same reason and return on the same day. I didn't use e-visa. I just want to save a passport page this time. However,  Ban Phu Nam Ron would be a better option, its closer than Poipet.

I just crossed at Poi Pet on the 1st, $30 for the visa,( why pay $40 for an Evisa??)  1 photo, no problems,

i stayed 3 days as was visiting family so not sure if u could just turn around, but why couldn't u??

FYI;;;17 casinos in Poi pet now, ITs a boom town, Pizza company, Cheap Booze and loads of new shop houses for rent and sale

Save passport pages and hence the considerable cost and hassle of having to get a new passport before current one expires.

Reduce time at the less than delightful Poipet crosding.

They could up evisa to$60 and it would still be my preference..
