I have a Kasikorn Bank account (saving) and associated atm/direct debit card. This has the VISA logo on it. Will I be able to use it in Spain to draw euros out of an atm machine ? When I still had a similar UK bank account and plastic, I was able to use it just about anywhere. I know about the one off charge each and every time; but the exchange rates were always ok.

Check with the bank if international use is turned on, if it's not, turn it on.

 

Make sure you have a Plan-B.

 

Some years ago I was working in Rotterdam, none of my UK ATM cards would work (both banks said they should), my SCB card worked just fine.

 

Thanks for that Crossy, it sounds like I will need to brace myself for one of those excruciating phone calls to Kasikorn. I may decide to just try it and see what happens; if the card gets spat out, then I'll know I have to make the call..............
