New 2 border run limit rule

The is still no written limit on visa exempt entries by air. There is only a restriction on doing back to back out/in visa runs to stay here long term. Perhaps you appeared to be doing that.

I wouldn't call 2 month gaps back to back but clearly they had some kind of beef with my entries.  It would not surprise me if it was another case of the rules being misinterpreted again?  Maybe the immigration officer did his training at Korat Immigration - they're good at making the rules up as they go along.

Guys, just so you know... all went smoothly and thanks for the info, keep away from the scammers at the gates at the embassy, they try to charge you 500 bhat to fill in a form for you, or even more if

    1. The 2 entry per calendar year for visa exempt entries only applies to land border crossings. If doing it by air their is no written limit. 2. No The rule applies at all land border crossings.

Thanks Joe, this is not the first time you have given me a helpful reply putting me straight, appreciated!   I think getting the 60 day entry in Nong Khai will be my best bet, probably work

As ubonjoe states, there is no written rule or limit coming in by air. It goes case by case, so it`s really up to the IO after a few entries. Their concern is to make sure you`re not working in Thailand.

Hello!!I ve a question about the border runs:-) I have done two border runs from Maesai. For each border run I got an extension. But in 2020 I only did one border run.So in a few days I would like to do another border run which would be the second this year, but third time in a role.Another option would be to go to Vientiane, but I don’t need a longer tourist visa ,because I m leaving to Bali soon. Also I don’t want to travel so much ,because I have my small son with me,so the Mae Sai option would be much nicer for me.Please, does anyone have an answer to my question?Thank you very much!!

Have you extended you current 30 day visa exempt entry for 30 days. That would better than getting your last entry for this year now.

You could do it since the 2 per calendar year count was reset on January 1st. Any you did last year do not count now.
