Dhammakaya-linked land to be seized

BANGKOK: -- Eight Pathum Thani properties belonging to a daughter of development tycoon Anant Asavabhokhin will be temporarily seized as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering and embezzlement linked to the Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative.

 

Some of that land is the site of the controversial Dhammakaya Temple’s Boon Raksa infirmary.

 

The transactions committee of the Anti-Money Laundering Office (Amlo) resolved on Tuesday to take temporary custody of the eight plots together worth Bt298 million, initially for 90 days.

 

The properties in Klong Luang district’s Tambon Klong Sam are registered in the name of Alisa Asavabhokhin, daughter of Land and Houses Plc chairman Anant, an Amlo source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

 

The agency has determined that former Klongchan chairman Supachai Srisupa-aksorn, who had allegedly bought the plots with embezzled money, sold them to Alisa for Bt298 million in 2013 after being accused of embezzlement, but none of the money went to the cooperative.

Why only temporarily seized?

If the land was bought with money embezzled from the credit union, it should be seized full stop.

The money from the sale of the land should then be used to repay some of the people who were swindled.

time must be given to exchange brown envelopes to get the lands un seized. everyone involved with this land siezure can still win out of this particular situation.

To answer your question on temporarily seized I think it is to outlast the Thai's short attention/memory span.

Everyone know where this money come from. Hopefully the deceived smallholders will be compensated. The real damage is much, much greater.

Would Ms Alisa be a dedicated Dhammajayo follower by any chance (and what about her father)...? Has she really been paying 'just' 298million for the 41rai next to the Dhammakaya temple to 'embezzler' (criminal!) Supachai? And, when so, didn't 'by mysterious ways' recuperate the money, 'elsewhere' soon after (hello, Amlo!)? ...To later 'allow' Dhammakaya to build its (mega) 'medical' facility on it? Sick joke. Phwaah, the smell of it all!

To me, it could be a fake sale, to whitewash the land acquired with stolen money by (confirmed Dhammakaya follower and sponsor) Supachai, as, of course(???), she didn't know, she 'bought' it 'in good faith', with the 'high reputation' (well, so it goes in Thailand) of her 'hi-so' father as a guarantee of (erm...) honesty...

Sad and pityfull the 'authorities' don't dare(!) to pull that whole Dhammakaya masquerade down, once and for all. Well, they didn't even try with the RTP, did they, probably afraid the BiBs could open up the military's cesspole in revenge...
