UPS bids expansion via extending collection cut-off times

UPS Thailand Co has extended collection cut-off times by up to 6.5 hours in Greater Bangkok and Ayutthaya.

 

Transit times from nine provinces to Vietnam have been accelerated by up to two days – up to one day from |Sara Buri – to major Asian cities and the US.

 

“Our goal is to give customers time savings that allow them more time for production,” managing director Tan Boon Tiam said. 

 

“The Thai government’s vision of developing Thailand into a key logistics hub in Southeast Asia will improve its connectivity to the rest of the region. “As Thailand improves its infrastructure, UPS will collaborate with local businesses to help them adapt to digital supply chain solutions.”

 

UPS aims to help its customers become more competitive in the market, particularly young businesses that need to grow overseas.

 

“Our continued expansion in Thailand supports the government’s initiatives for its special economic zones by giving them technology solutions from UPS,” he said.

 

UPS revenues grew 6.2 per cent in the first quarter of this year from the corresponding quarter last year. However, he declined to reveal revenues of UPS Thailand in 2016 or its targets for 2017.

 

It spends US$1 billion (Bt34.5 billion) annually in developing technologies, with recent highlights being delivery by drones in the US, 3D printing in Asia-Pacific and a paperless invoice system.
