Following the arrest of a man for molesting a 12 year old girl an illegal home for runaway children has been ordered shut.

Arrested Thursday was 39 year old Kampanat "Pom" Pui-utha.

Yesterday a delegation led by Hua Hin district chief Rutpratheep Thammarapheephat, local officials, child protection agencies, police and soldiers went to inspect the property in the Khao Tao community.

They found that the home was not registered with the interior ministry. There was no signage outside and inside was a complete mess.

They discovered that a foreign woman was in charge, Daily News named her only as Mrs Jemmy, 52. There was no indication in the report if she was there or what had happened to her.

The facility had been raided some years back after claims that it was offering accommodation on a daily rental basis without a hotel license.

Some children were taken into care then but it continued to operate illegally for years thereafter with youngsters from broken homes and runaways residing there.

It has now been permanently shut due to its operating illegally.

Unfortunately these dreadful paedophiles are attracted to this kind of place (homes for runaway kids) as their evil activities hide under a veil of welfare. As the previous post suggests, the laws need to be tightened and the perps brought swiftly to book.
