soup501
I have a used Toyota that I would like to sell in Chiang Rai. The car is registered in Bangkok with Bangkok license plates. I bought the car used from a Pattaya company and to transfer of ownership we took the car to a Bangkok Land Transportation Office to change ownership. Can someone tell me if it is true that a car must be taken to the Province of registration in order to change ownership. I don't want to drive from Chiang Rai to Bangkok if I don't have to. johng
Just give the buyer all the documents including power of attorney and let them worry about registering the car in their name....if they live in Chaingmai and dont want to drive to Bangkok its possible to "move" the car to Chaingmai province at the Main Department of Land Transportation office in Chaingmai they issue new number plates and then change names in the blue book You as the seller don't have to be involved at all.
