Five police officers of Lat Phrao police station from the superintendent down to the inspector were abruptly transferred to inactive posts in the operations centre of the 4th division of Metropolitan Police Bureau following a raid of an illegal casino in Lat Phrao area on Tuesday night in which 101 gamblers, including over a dozen of foreigners, were rounded up.

Pol Maj-Gen Nanthachart Supamongkol, commander of the MPB’s 4th division, who ordered the transfer said that the five officers who were in charge of vice suppression found to be negligent of their duty for allowing an illegal gambling den to operate in their area of responsibility.

A special task force of the army carried out the raid of the illegal casino located in Lat Phrao Soi 119 after several complaints from residents in the neighbourhood with the police. Unfortunately, the complaints went unheeded and, therefore, the complainants took the case to the army.

Oooooohhhh, sounds like someone's toes got stepped on, with their cash flow interrupted.

That is the exact results of the "inactive post".The police can no longer share the brown envelops from the shop and business owners in that area.
