Yellow book - described as OCCUPANT with name on Chanote?

Featured Replies

I have a condo jointly owned with wife (both our names on Chanote ownership) but I notice in my yellow book I am described as an OCCUPANT rather than OWNER.
Is this correct for yellow book owners to be described as such, as I notice wife is described as OWNER in the blue book she has?
Not a biggie, just curious about the Yellow book description?

Seems normal to me.

I think you wife is shown as head of household or house master not owner.

Exactly what I have seen/checked some time ago for us.

The blue book is NOT proof of ownership.

"house master" is the closest translation.

(transcript "chao ban")

And in the yellow book you will not be a "master".

Thanks guys for helping out. Yes the blue book of wife says "ChaoBahn" which is more household or house master than owner like you said.

I suppose if a foreigner owned the condo outright alone he/she would go in a Yellow Book as "master" as there is no one else and no blue book option for foreigners?

Maybe some condo owner can answer this. Not sure.

Yes, the foreign owner of a condo living in his condo will be listed as house master in his yellow house registration book.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

i will be moving into a house i just had built in chiang saen , chiang rai; i will be the only occupant; my wife and sister in law own the land; do i need yellow book ? what would be the advantage in having it ? i figure change of address (that i do) and the 'standard ' form from the owner of the land would suffice; if there are two land co-owners , is it enough for only one to sponsor me ?

I already answered the same question you asked in another topic.

You do not have to have a yellow house book. If your wife has a blue house book or is registered in one for where you are living that is your proof of residence.

I'm an alien and Master-of-the-House in the Yellow House Book, the Blue only has Thai Occupants, and I have to approve any changes in the Blue Book.

That has been mentioned in other threads where it's said, that Blue Book is empty for name, and Yellow Book hold the condo-owners name (as occupant and probably Master).
