I was deported from Japan some 10 years ago, I arrived on a ship and the captain and shore side agent did not get me a visa so was arrested when I tried to leave the country. I was informed that if I wanted to return to Japan within the next 5 years that I would not be able to avail of the visa on arrival, but would need to apply to the Japanese embassy for a visa. Since this was some 10 years ago I am hoping that there will be no problems if I arrive via airplane. Has any one else been in a similar predicament, or anyone have any helpful suggestions.
