Bringing Thai Baht to Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi !  According to both Suvanabhumi and Don Muang airport websites, they state that there is NO LIMIT on how much THB you can bring in to TH. Is this true ?

You refer to this:

Quote

Currency declaration upon arrival There is no limit on the amount of Thai currency which can be brought into Thailand.

From:

http://www.suvarnabhumiairport.com/en/1002-customs-services

It's in line with a couple of other sources.

That's all I can say.

Not even an obligation to declare.

I move this thread to the ... banking ... forum where the financial experts are. Leaving a link in the Visas forum.

The customs website only mentions a limit on foreign currency brought in.

See: http://en.customs.go.th/content.php?ini_content=arriving_in_thailand&lang=en&left_menu=menu_arriving_in_thailand

You should though check if there is a limit on taking it out of the country where you are traveling from without declaring it.

Thanks, just checked with Lao customs. A bit schocked... You can take out max 2,000 US$ or equivalent... Have worked now in Laos for 7 years, and a LOT of things we buy in TH. Never anyone stopping or asking...
