tropo
How early can one apply for a yearly extension based on retirement?... and how long is an Embassy letter indicating monthly income valid? I will be applying at the Jomtien Immigration Office. Thanks in advance!
IMA_FARANG
In theory, as soon as you are qualified. You must be 50 years of age or greater and if you use the Bank funds method your money must be in the bank and "seasoned" for the required time. In reality, it also depends on the immigration.....some offices don't like you to apply to early. There is no "hard and fast rule" for all immigration offices. Generally, a embassy income letter is good for 6 months from the date of issue. Edited June 2, 2017 by IMA_FARANG added a comment

ubonjoe
Just now, tropo said: It's not my first time. At some offices you can apply for the extension up 45 days early and at others 30 days. Immigration will accept a income letter that is up to 6 months old.
dabhand
Understand that renewal up to 45 days early is OK - I applied 40days early last year with no problem. The embassy income letter is valid for 6 months - mine was over 3 months old for this year's renewal and, again, no problem. This is at Jomtien.
