PHUKET: The three government hospitals in Phuket are urging people in “at risk” groups to present themselves to receive free influenza (flu) vaccinations.

The campaign, underway at Thalang Hospital, Patong Hospital and Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town, started on Thursday (June 1) and continues until to August 31.

A notice issued by Vachira Hospital explained that the free flu jabs help people to resist Influenza Types A (H1N1) and (H3N2), which are known variants of the so-called “swine flu”, and Type B strains of influenza virus.

The vaccinations are available free only to specific groups, the notice added.
