Id Card For Thai Gf

Featured Replies

not sure if this is relevant but

my gf id card looks like it was hit by a bus

i asked her why she doesnt get a new one

but she said she must go back to udonthani for this

being the farang that i am i said" but you live in bkk with me now ,

shouldn't your id show your current address, not your old one ?"

i know in australia you can be fined for not updating your address on license

she says "thailand no same same austayleeya" (sic)

is she right , i thought seeing as thai's are supposed to carry these at all times

shouldnt they be accurate ?

cheers

Technically Stu, Thais are supposed to update their id cards when they change their address, but this also involves changing the tabien bahn (house registration). So, most of them leave their id cards and tabien bahn as showing their original family home. I believe she would have to go back to Udon to change her id card & tabien bahn anyway.

Hi, stu_$

Your gf no need to go back to Udornthani any more just bring the old ID card and a house registration to any distric office in BKK

such as Dindang, Prayathai,Meenburee....etc.

Not more than 15 mins you can get a new ID card.

Now, the database was linked up whole Thailand.
