dg0101
Hi all, first of all I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong section but I wasn't sure exactly where to add it, so maybe the right mod can move it if necessary. This will be my first visit to Thailand. I will vacation for 10 days, and am from the USA. I have a question regarding the customs and "dutiable" fees and declaring things upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi airport. Obviously I am not going to be bringing anything illegal or prohibited into the country, not even close. But I am confused as to what I should be declaring and what I shouldn't upon arrival and the whole "up to 20,000 baht" in value rule/law. I will be bringing only personal items on this trip. I am planning to bring my old laptop, tablet, clothes, and other personal effects - such as electric shaver, cologne, etc and things of that nature. I might also bring a gift or two (fairly inexpensive) for the people that will be hosting me. I am not going to be bringing anything of commercial value or anything to sell, nor will I be bringing currency in excess of the amount that is allowed. The reason as to why I need a both a laptop, a tablet and other electronic devices is because I'm flying directly to Europe for an extended-stay vacation after my stay in Thailand. My question is this, do I need to fill out the form and declare anything or just walk through the "green zone" seeing as they're all personal items? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. BritTim
Thailand's customs are pretty laid back. Unless you are bringing in obvious commercial merchandise, or a container full of household effects, they leave you alone.

Evilbaz
Often the Customs guys are asleep in Phuket. If not - don't look them in the eyes and keep walking.
