alocacoc
I'm just back from the consulate Savannakhet. My application with outbound flight ticket, bank statement from a Thai bank and condo rental contract got accepted. Pickup passport tomorrow. Very quiet. Only maybe 2 dozens people at 9am. But the officer watched every paper carefully. That was for a Setv. Feel free to ask questions if you need more information. Living in Chaingmai we have flown to Udon and taken a car across Friendship Bridge. However, my preferred method is flying from Bangkok to Savannkhet Airport on Laos Airline. I THINK there are plenty of "bus" options as well.
BritTim
3 hours ago, kraxlhuber said: How did you travel to Savannaketh, by plane/car/bus? Going from Bangkok, I either take the overnight VIP bus or fly-ride service to Mukdahan on the way out, and take the fly-ride service returning. The fly-ride journey avoids a long bus journey, but, outbound, the bus schedule is ideal for arriving early morning in Savannakhet for the visa application. Fly-ride on the way to Savannakhet means an extra night (in Savannakhet or Mukdahan) because you cannot arrive early enough for the visa application. If traveling from other parts of Thailand, the optimum solution might be different.
