Cheap Macs (apple Computer)

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just found a website which, astonishingly, offers U.S. prices for Macs

http://www.tohome.com/catalog.aspx?catalog_id=693

Anyone has experience with them? I am amazed because what I have seen so far in Thailand, PC laptops were always competitively priced compared with back home, but Apple gear was always way overpriced. I even flew to Singapore once to buy a Mac... Ok so it was Tiger Air and cost 1000 Baht, but still... :o

I've ordered from them several times over the last 2-3 years and found there service to be very good. They even send me a birthday card every year. :o. However there prices are usually a little higher then if searching around in shops, but I find it convenient and items I can't find in Chiangmai, can order from them.

As for the Mac, not sure why you think it is cheaper on this site. From the Apple Store, same computer:

* 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

* 1GB memory

* 120GB hard drive1

* Double-layer SuperDrive

$1,499.00

From Tohome:

Apple MacBook Core2 Duo (Black) 2.0GHz 13.3"

(Core2 Duo, 2.0GHz, 1GB DDR2, 120GB, SuperDrive, Wireless, Bluetooth, 13.3'' TFT widescreen, Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger)

List Price : 61,900 Baht

Our Price : 61,900 Baht (Incl. Vat)

Converted to dollars at 35.5baht/$ = $1743.66
