Vandalising a WWII memorial isn’t “protest”, it’s just despicable! It doesn’t matter where in the world it is, once you target a site built to honour people who died in war, you’ve crossed the line. This is not activism, it’s outright contempt, the kind of vandalism that spits on the memory of the dead and advertises the vandal’s own moral vacancy. Every country has its political arguments, but war memorials are the one place most societies agree are sacrosanct. They are not political, they’re reminders of people who never came home. Whoever did this should face consequences, and the wider public should stop pretending that vandalism is some kind of moral statement.
