BANGKOK, 27 June 2017 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has revealed that the military has not discussed its annual reshuffling and affirmed that the election will take place as scheduled.

Gen Prawit gave the statement before his meeting with the Ministry of Defense. He explained that the meeting will not discuss the annual reshuffling because it first requires deliberations with the Prime Minister, heads of branches, and a list of nominees for reshuffling.

He affirmed that the National Council for Peace and Order is committed to adhering to the election roadmap. He added that he personally has no intention of forming a political party to support the current administration, although he cannot speak for the Prime Minister's intentions.

I suppose that the delay in the reshuffle of senior military officers is inevitable. With so many of the military and naval leadership needed to manage the executive and budgetary functions of civil government there are so many extra considerations to be taken into account...

What road to the election? There is no road or election Guess you can tell the Thais anything and they believe you

I don't think the Thais believe it anymore than we do.  It's the delusional, arrogant junta that think the nonsense they constantly spout is believed. I would imagine that by now many Thais also realise that even if there is an election, it will be meaningless because whoever wins will have no power to do anything unless the junta (senate) says it's ok.  It's all pointless.

Does anyone understand what all this talk of a road map, election, constitution, parliament, senate, and of five rivers, organic laws, elimination of corruption, reform of the police, four pillars,  Thailand 4.0, education reform, continuing economic recovery, dramatic increase in tourist numbers, hub of this and that, etc etc really means?

Perhaps it is all a misunderstanding?
