PATTAYA: -- A popular strip of concrete by the sea has been reclaimed for keep fit enthusiasts after complaints were made to the Pattaya mayor.

A delegation led by Somchai Bamrungsak of the Pattaya Municipal Authority were in the area behind Ban Sukhaodee yesterday to inspect what was going on.

They found that tour buses were using the concrete strip to traverse the area.

Complaints had been made to the mayor by residents that they risked accidents due to traffic using the section of concrete that is not a proper road.

Now all vehicles are set to be banned there with alternatives sought for vehicular access.

This street is on Naklua gulf. It is behind Sukhawadee house.

It is public area and it is a part of public park which owned by Pattaya City.

The objective of this concrete way is the walking path by the sea for local people and foreigner.  Once Sukhawadee used this street for bus. People cannot walk or jogging on this way. It is unsafe.

This way connects to Katingrai Park.

in our province , everyone uses the 'bikes only path'; concrete trucks going the wrong way; everything; honestly i do not think the thais know what these bike paths are for; these are separate from the roads

Everybody knows...nobody cares.

Thais are not ignorant of the laws of the country they just choose to ignore them in most cases.
