Especially if there is a hiccup in the financial system the leads to 'bail-ins'. Then no one will trust banks and we're back to square one. CME? Bank failures? It's a coin toss as to what will end this pipe dream. But it's a fantasy that will not see the 22nd century. Cashless depends on a fail-proof electrical grid and trustworthy global financial institutions. We have neither. Cyprus proved what happens when government controls money. If they bring in cashless, NONE OF US has any control of our wealth, and like Cyprus, they can take it away if they want. WAKE UP.
