Last night I was talking to a friend of mine (Thai male) who bought a 3.2 liter 4X4 Ranger about a year ago. He was raving about how great the service plan is. He has had the truck serviced twice. He says he takes it in, walks up the road, gets something to eat, walks back and picks up his truck. No charge at all. I quizzed him about what it covers and got a blank look. He said everything. The dealer spoke poor English and I still don't know what is covered. As far as I could tell the plan covers 7 regular services. Every 10,000 kilometers or every nine months if you don't drive 10,000 kilometers. It looks to me about like paying in advance for service. The cost for the Eco Sport is about 20,000 baht. The advantage for me is that my wife will be the one taking it in for service. The last time she took in the Isuzu, she let them put in a bottle of crap that cost 990 baht. It was supposed to clean the carbon. Of course I threw a fit. The result of my complaining is that the next time I have to take it in for service myself. Since we have not had the Eco Sport serviced yet, I don't know about the cost. The cost of the prepaid service is nearly 3,000 baht per, so other than the convenience, I don't know if it is worth it or not. Do any of you Ford lovers use that plan? Caps Posted July 26, 2017 Share Posted July 26, 2017 We are getting a Ranger Wildtrak when I get back home in early Sept from the dealer on Rama 4, BKK and what what I am lead to believe is that the service plan for us is for Labour only on the first 7 services. 10,000km or 9 months as you say. cornishcarlos Posted July 26, 2017 Share Posted July 26, 2017 I paid about 18k for our 3 yr service plan when we bought our 2011 Ranger. It covered a 10,000km service up to 100,000km or 3yrs. Nothing special about it, you're just paying in advance. It covered standard service labour and parts. Since that finished, I just change the oil and filter every 15,000km costs me 1000 baht... They do, the 3.2EV takes over 9Ltrs ... SSP is not cheap but it is cheaper than paying each time. The plan is for 63 months, dealer hourly rate increase doesn't effect you. You pay absolutely nothing IF at service book in you tell them JUST the service, nothing else. In the five years you should only have to pay for tyres/battery/wiper blades. Yes MM Ford Service Costs are not exactly cheap ... however their market share has increased significantly this year so someone likes the product ... For Gary A ... bear in mind how many free labour services they gave you ... So at initial glance the saving may not be huge but hourly rates are expected to increase over five years, so may the price of service parts. I carefully caught his old oil and put it in a can. When I changed oil in my old banger, I used his old oil. His drained oil came out about as clear as it went in. His drained oil came out about as clear as it went in. My Everest just had its first service (due at 15,000km or 9 months). It's 9 months old and only done 4,800km. Just under 9L of clean and clear, fully synthetic oil replaced. I sincerely hope that it has been 'diverted' into someones old banger and not wasted. I am on my second Ranger and I never enrolled on their OSP or SSP that respectively claim to save 18% on oil and 15% on services. I just took it to the dealers at the regular service intervals and never had to wait much longer than an hour. Ford have a published, capped service cost for each model. Not sure what model of Ecosport you have but one of these 3 links will take you to the details of what each service entails and the capped cost. To save the wife from having to make any decisions or confusing her, it looks like a pretty good deal. I'm going to go ahead and buy the service plan. She doesn't drive that far so I think the service every nine months will fit. That's 63 months. Hopefully there will be no surprises. They gave a small discount so the plan cost is a bit less than 20,000 baht. So far she is happy with the vehicle although she said the Focus had more power.
